Guru Gaddi Day Celebration 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona

Gurdwara Sahib Guru Nanak Dwara

Phoenix, Arizona

Phoniex Gurdwara Guru Gaddi Day 2011In celebration of the 303rd anniversary of the transfer of the Guruship from human form to the Siri Guru Granth Sahib by Guru Gobind Singh, the congregation of Gurdwara Sahib Guru Nanak Dwara in Phoenix, Arizona held an Akhand Path, special Gurpurbh Gurdwara, and Nagar Kirtan. For this special occasion, Guruji was dressed in shimmering gold silk ramalas graced with beautiful flower arrangements.

Ragi Jatha Bhai Surinder Singh led the kirtan in praise of the Guru’s Bani. The Panj members were composed of young people from the Sangat to signify our commitment to the future generations. They sat at attention around the Guru during Gurdwara and then led the procession in a Nagar Kirtan around our beautiful New Gurdwara, which is under construction, and then back into our current Gurdwara. A delicious Guru ka Langar followed the celebration. It was a day of great appreciation for this gift given to us by Guru Gobind Singh for time immemorial for which we felt a deep sense of gratitude.
