(NANDED, 29 October 2008)

Nanded is awash with Sangat from all over the world.

To embrace the thousands with all its pristine glory, the Takht was given Takhtsnaan today.  Hundreds of devotees climbed the nook and corner of the Takht premises to bring sheen and shine to the historic building which is the centre of attraction of the Sikh world.

Devotees from Amritsar have arrived with Gold plated canopy-chandelier, the Sikhs from Deccan, Jalandhar and USA have come with gold and diamond-studded Kalgis-plumes for the Takht Sahib, the Sikh Dharma International has graciously presented a Spanish translation of Guru Granth Sahib, the Chemists and Druggists Association of Nanded has presented medicines for the pilgrims, the Sikhs of Mumbai and Patiala have reached there with a score of doctors and para-medics, Kar Sewa Babas are making gigantic preparations to give a new dimension to the definition of Langar, the SGPC and other organizations are preparing for Sikh Games, journalists from Punjab and rest of the world have occupied the media centre, the Nanded police has built a vast team of volunteers for manning the Police and emergency Helplines, the government is pitching in with parks, roads and an enlarged airport, the media including the locally popular Godateer Samachar are coming out with special editions, Doordarshan is telecasting a seven-part series –the air in Nanded and every where a Sikh resides is reverberating with joy, pride and respect for the Word of the Guru.

Sikhs from all over the globe –from Pakistan to USA to New Zealand to Turkey are reaching Nanded.
World Sikh News again this week presents a unique photo feature which should make Sikhs proud of their legacy and which should certainly make the Sikhs rename Nanded as Hazur Sahib for all times to come. Sikh Guru de Shaan Guru di.
