Recently Sat Kirin Kaur Khalsa and Hari Kaur Khalsa (NY) attended a press conference hosted by United Sikhs at the United Nations Church Center to discuss, "How Does a Community Without Borders Defend its Civil and Human Rights?"  The panel was comprised of a diverse representation of human rights defenders and attorneys, including representatives from the SGPC, the ACLU, the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, Human rights Watch, and other inter-religious leaders.  United Sikhs announced that they filed “a legal challenge to the French law banning the wearing of the turban in schools and on ID document photos."
