In the lecture entitled, "Conviction and Convention," the Siri Singh Sahib explains the difference between living by convention versus living by conviction.  When one lives by convention, one follows the herd without experiencing a deeper reality.  Siri Singh Sahib says, "we loose our happiness when we live a conventional life."  When one lives by conviction, one lives in depth, truth, authenticity.  We are accountable to our own soul and we experience happiness.  Sikh Dharma, when lived with conviction, generates happiness.
