In the lecture, "Soul Mate," from the "Light of the Shabad Guru" series, the Siri Singh Sahib discusses loneliness and the longing to mate. He explains that this deep and natural urge originates in the soul, who feels lonely for God. The Soul sends the message to the mind, "Take me to my True Love."  If the mind is not tuned to the soul, it will send maya:  sex, drugs, negative patterns.  "Do you want to satisfy your longing with maya?  Or, do you want to satisfy your soul with the Guru's Shabad?"
