Registration for the 2018 Camp Miri Piri is OPEN!
What is it?
“Not only did we learn about Sikh history and Sikh Philosophy, but the integration of kundalini yoga made the experience of Sikhi tangible. The practice of physical discipline and spiritual discipline made the camp a much more profound experience. “ – CMP 2014 participant
Camp Miri Piri is a fun and transformative experience for women and men over the age of 18, that will strengthen the body, focus the mind and uplift the spirit. It is a celebration and dedication to Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru who started the warrior-saint tradition in Sikhism. His two swords, ‘Miri’ and ‘Piri,’ represent the balance between spiritual and worldly powers. Under the beautiful skies of New Mexico you will learn, explore and practice these balanced warrior-saint values. Our days begin with the recitation of morning Banis and a group Sadhana, followed by physical training. During the day we listen to Sikh stories, meditate, practice Gatka, and participate in discussion groups. Each evening we recite Reheras, have a full program of Gurbani Kirtan, sharing and Diwan.
Who is CMP for?
ANYONE! Sikhs, yoga and meditation enthusiasts, martial artists, professors, students, housewives, scientists, young, old, woman, man, all are welcome and encouraged to participate because there is truly something for everyone here.
Why should you go?
You will experience yourself as never before. Your limitations will be demolished. You will form deep friendships through a shared experience of seva, inspiration, exceeding personal expectations and a tangible experience of The One in all.
“The camp is not just about listening to speakers like conferences. It is about experiencing bani as a cohort and learning to incorporate bani in everyday life as a Sikh. The sevadars and everyone in the camp was super helpful and we all became like a family. Physical training and waking up in the morning was the highlight of the camp for me.” -CMP 2014 participant
