Meditation of the Soul: An Introduction to Jap Jī
April 9, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm PDT
Teachers: Snatam Kaur & Prabhu Nam Kaur.
Gurū Nānak, a saint and sage of India in the 15th century, gave us the sacred recitation called Jap Jī . This recitation is essentially a road map to the experience of union with the One in our daily lives as householders. As we recite it we not only have the experience of the consciousness of Gurū Nānak, but also the opportunity to heal deep within. Jap Jī is the very first sacred poem in the Sirī Guru Granth Sāhib, the sacred text for Sikhs and we start our Aquarian Sādhanā with this sacred recitation. This workshop will be an introduction to this sacred poem as we journey into the deep spiritual energy within these beautiful words. Please bring a head covering for yourself to obtain the best benefits possible in the recitation and to also maintain the sacredness of the tradition from which Jap Jī comes.
