I Am a Woman: Essential Kriyas for Women in the Aquarian Age

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan always said that the Women’s Teachings were the key to the Aquarian Age . . . here is your resource to open that door!

This yoga manual, that accompanies the “I am Woman” reader, has been organized by topic so that you can focus on a particular discipline within your own practice, generate weekend workshops for your students, or create an entire curriculum for an in-depth experience of the women’s teachings over time. Each chapter includes a vigorous kriya or two, several meditations and a mantra/sound-current practice to connect to you to the Shabad Guru and the divine within.

‘I Am a Woman’ is available to purchase through the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI)

  1. Harinder Singh says:

Hi I dont understand what you mena by
Suspend the breath out for 15 seconds. Please clarify.
5 second breath in , 5 seconds breath out & then what ?

    • Harinder Singh – this is a technique that may seem unusual or even uncomfortable at first. It refers to suspending or pausing your normal breathing rhythm so that after you complete your exhale, instead of immediately beginning your inhale, you pause your breathing with the breath held out. In this case, the directions are for you to measure the time of each part of your breathing – start by taking 5 seconds to completely inhale, then take 5 seconds to completely exhale and then pause your breathing for 15 seconds while you hold or “suspend” your breath out. The instructions go on to recommend that you begin practicing this meditation with a relatively short breathing cycle time of 5 + 5 + 15 =25 seconds but that, over several days, you slowly increase that breathing cycle up to the point where it could take 60 seconds for the complete breathing cycle.

        • Pritpal Singh says:

Paramjit – this is the breathing technique as given for this meditation. It is never recommended to change aspects of the practice. I understand that this is a challenging breathing technique but after doing it for a while, it will start to feel easier.
