Sangat Member Spotlight – Mata Mandir Kaur Khalsa, Journey Into the Heart of Sikh Dharma

For the past 14 years, Mata Mandir Kaur—a Sikh Dharma Minister, Kundalini Yoga teacher and long-time student of Sikh Dharma—has facilitated a unique small-group tele-course called Journey into the Heart of Sikh Dharma. The course inspires seekers from all paths, including Kundalini Yoga students and teachers, as well as individuals considering becoming Sikh Ministers, and people of all faiths.

The course offers a rich opportunity to learn from many presenters who share their knowledge on a wide range of Sikh Dharma teachings—such as Sikh concepts of marriage, death and dying, and the relationship between Kundalini Yoga and Sikhism.

Mata Mandir Kaur, who facilitates the course with Sat Kaur Khalsa (Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainer) says, “I love the fellowship of the group and how all of these people, very diverse—new comers, old-timers, teacher training graduates—support and hold each other for this beautiful seven-month period. I have found it so enriching. I guess that’s why I do it year after year. The course starts again in September 2014 and registration opens May 5. We are excited to offer sections convenient for European time zones as well as here in the West.”

Recent course attendee, Sarb Sarang Kaur, took her Sikh Dharma Minister vows in January 2014, after attending the course. She reported, “It was inspiring to listen to and learn from the many presenters in their particular area of strength, and to reflect on my area of strength….it was all about realizing I have much of value to share; going deep within and then bringing forth the wealth of experience and understanding of Sikh Dharma as I live it. Learning and sharing only deepens my appreciation of and commitment to practice these precious teachings.”
