SDI hosted the annual gurdwara at Sat Nam Fest. The location this year was in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The Millis Ashram and New Hampshire Sangat joined in bringing all that was necessary to create a beautiful Court of the Guru and to bring the Siri Guru Granth Sahib to this Kundalini Yoga and sacred music community.
Each morning after sadhana, many came and experienced the presence of the Guru for the first time. Singing the Kirtan, standing for Ardas and hearing the daily Hukam, each part of the program was briefly explained to share the grace and divinity of these Sikh sacred practices.
A Sat Nam Fest Sahej Paath was started. At the end of a class titled ‘Connecting to the Guru,’ where Snatam Kaur, Prabhu Nam Kaur and Sada Bahar Kaur shared their experiences of reading from the Guru and familiarized participants with the Gurdwara and how to read from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Japji Sahib was read and the Sahej Paath began. Again and again, those who read shared their gratitude for the opportunity for this profound and life changing experience. The Sahej Paath will continue through successive festivals until the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib has been read and the community blessed by the vibration of its words and presence. Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh!
