Sikhs see everything as God’s Creation. In Sikh Dharma, we do not despise the world. But at the same time, we don’t see it as “real.” Sikhs see God as the only Reality, and Creation as a play or illusion staged by God. “Maya” is defined as the illusion that humans are separate from God, the illusion that we are little realities in our own right. Sikhs believe that we can break Maya’s hold on our minds by chanting God’s Name.
Sikhs believe that God created mankind for His own enjoyment. It is His play. And He enjoys the play. He sees if mankind can appreciate His Grace and His Infinity. Sikhs see reality as a chance to play as a beloved in God’s dance and view the creation of the world is a stage, which God has given us to understand the unity of life.
