“Sat Nam” means “true identity.” This phrase is used as a welcoming greeting by many on the path of Sikh Dharma.
“Sat Nam” is the bij mantra or seed sound. Sikhs believe uttering “Sat Nam” helps elevate the consciousness of any person to Infinity.
