Tav Prasad Savaiye

Tav Prasad Savaiye is one of the daily banis (Sikh prayers) prescribed by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, to support the spiritual development of the Sikhs. “Tav Prasad Savaiye” can be translated to mean “Measures by Thy Grace.” It was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru.

A “savaiye” is a short verse, usually four lines long, generally used in songs of praise. So “Tav Prasad Savaiye” is a song in praise of God.

Tav Prasad Savaiye corresponds to the air element (tattva).

Like the bani Jaap Sahib and other works by Guru Gobind Singh, Tav Prasad Savaiye appears in the Dasam Granth, rather than the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.

Recitation of this bani can warm the heart and enhance one’s satisfaction in life.
