Light of Guru Nanak Yatra
Celebrating the 550th Birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
November 15 – 25, 2019
Anandpur Sahib and Amritsar, India
When Guru Gobind Singh left this earthly plane, he counseled his Sikhs to never forget their glorious history, for it is in remembering the saints and heroes that we bring strength and relevance to our own lives.
2019 marks the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the founder of Sikh Dharma and the pure light that opened the hearts of untold millions. Meditating on Guru Nanak brings exaltation to the spirit and opens the soul to the pervasive and amazing glory of the Divine. Guru Nanak brings courage to the spirit, comfort to the mind, and illumination to the soul.
We will journey to India for the Light of Guru Nanak Yatra – a historical trip to India, to join the sangat in celebrating the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Beginning at Dashmesh Sadan in Anandpur Sahib, we will spend several days immersing ourselves in Japji Sahib, Guru Nanak’s call of the soul. Then we will travel to Amritsar and join tens of thousands of devotees for the celebrations at Sultanpur Lodhi, the small village where Guru Nanak Dev ji experienced his Jal Samadhi – his moment of liberation immersed in the waters of the river Kail Bein.
