Khalsa Woman Leader: Sat Bachan Kaur

Sat Bachan Kaur (Chile) – since childhood has had a deep connection with healing and plants. Her love for medicinal plants started in her early years. Aromatic herbs expanded her awareness of nature.  Trained by Dominique Baudoux in Professional Scientific Aromatherapy, she uses essential oils as a healing method in her family and their environments.

While studying Anthropology, she met a Mapuche healer who taught her about the subtle healing energy of nature, and medicinal plants in the Mapuche culture, the healing nature of dreams and the importance of the community in the expansion of the Being.

From a young age, Sat Bachan was always happy to look after her baby cousins and enjoyed taking care of children. Her connection with childhood and babies led her to be nicknamed “the Child Whisperer”.

In 2000, Sat Bachan started attending Kundalini Yoga classes and she continues to learn about healing and awareness. Humanology was the most important topic for her during her Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. She loved our teachings on motherhood, pregnancy and child raising and she delved deeply into learning about them.

She trained in Conscious Pregnancy with Tarn Taran Kaur. Now as a Lead Trainer in Conscious Pregnancy, a program with a KRI seal of approval to train Teachers in Pre and Postnatal Yoga, she has taught people from Chile, United States, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela, Spain and Paraguay. She is the founder of the Kundalini Community Yoga School and Women’s Yoga.

Sat Bachan continued to educate herself on Yogi Bhajan’s teachings about child raising and created Parenting Circles in Chile, where she has inspired hundreds of families on the challenging journey of motherhood and parenting.

As a pioneer in teaching yoga on the topics of motherhood and parenting, she has created a specialization in Yogic Parenting, expanding this new area in the United States, Spain, Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

Sat Bachan lives in the South of Chile with her husband Rai Singh and her daughter Sat Raj Kaur.  Their son, Gurudain Singh, now attends Miri Piri Academy.  She is an avid reader who enjoys historical novels, walking through the woods, celebrating, spending time with her family, and actively supporting her children’s school.

In October 2024, Sat Bachan Kaur helped to organize the first Women’s Camp in South America.

Most recently in January 2025, Sat Bachan Kaur, along with her husband, Rai Singh, became Sikh Dharma Ministers.
