40-Day Subtle/Radiant Body Series

For the most part, human beings identify with their physical body and think of themselves in physical terms—or perhaps at best, as a physical body and a mind. The truth is that the human being is made up of ten bodies: the physical body, three mental bodies, and six energy bodies.

Each of the ten Gurus in human form personified certain virtues, and in manifesting these special qualities they became living examples for people in all walks of life to realize they also can experience the God within themselves.

Guru Tegh Bahadur is remembered for his tranquility and is associated with the Subtle Body (9th Body). Guru Gobind Singh is remembered for his royal courage and is associated with the Radiant Body (10th Body).

2025 marked the 350th year anniversary of the Martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur and the ascendancy of Guru Gobind Singh to the Guruship. To commemorate these special historic dates, SDI hosted the Akal Dayal Yatra to India. And, for the 40 days leading up to and through this yatra, we shared teachings about how to develop and expand the Subtle Body and the Radiant Body!

Here is more about the Ten Bodies:

  • 1st – Soul Body
  • 2nd – Negative Mind
  • 3rd – Positive Mind
  • 4th – Neutral Mind
  • 5th – Physical Body
  • 6th – Arcline
  • 7th – Aura
  • 8th – Pranic Body
  • 9th – Subtle Body
  • 10th – Radiant Body

The Ten Bodies are powerful capacities of the psyche. Each body has specific gifts that manifest when strong, and certain deficit tendencies that surface when weak.

Your caliber is determined by the balance of your Ten Bodies. You can strengthen any of the Ten Bodies by developing an ability to identify which body is out of balance and then practicing the appropriate technology to strengthen that body.

The Subtle Body gives you the opportunity to understand and master the subtlety of life. It can help you understand what is going on around you and how things work. Those people who can tune into situations easily or pick up new skills as if by magic, have developed the Subtle Body.

The Radiant Body gives you spiritual royalty and radiance. A strong Radiant Body will make you courageous in the face of any and every obstacle. When strong, this frequency of excellence and purity resonates throughout our being.

The Subtle Body relates to the 9th Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. Guru Teg Bahadur spent much of his life in deep meditation and is well known for his Sloks in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib focusing on non-attachment as the key to spiritual fulfillment. In his life, Guru Teg Bahadur mastered the subtle perceptual ability to sense the Infinite and universal reality.

The Radiant Body relates to the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Gobind Singh is the universal herald of courage and victory. As we invoke his presence, we notice it most in the Radiant Body, allowing us to feel stronger, more energized and more able to face anything.
