Waheguruji Ka Khalsa
Waheguruji Ki Fateh 🙏
From the very beginning and throughout our journey of sharing the teachings of Kundalini Yoga in Cuba, the inspiration and legacy of the Gurus have sustained our path.
As we deepened our practice, we perceived—in every teacher who visited us—a subtle aura; something ineffable and unspoken that was beyond our physical grasp yet clearly recognized by our hearts. We witnessed lives dedicated to service and a consciousness rooted in Dharma. The inspiration to surrender ourselves to the Guru came to us not as an explicit or direct invitation, but rather through the presence, caliber, and profound, all-encompassing vision of the universe—manifested in the words and actions of the various faces and transmitters of the Shabad Guru.
Over the years—from our initial 2013 meetings with Arjan Singh Ji and the guidance of other servers of the Guru who visited to share the teachings, to the first taking of vows in February 2023 under the guidance of Guru Sansar Singh Ji—we observed a discipline, an action born of silence, and a total surrender that sought or expected nothing in return. The resonance within us grew steadily—like the journey toward a full moon—leading us, personally and internally, to recognize ourselves as eternal students under the Guru’s shelter.
Following that first vow-taking Gurdwara, the celebration continued monthly in various homes and gathering spaces of the Sangat, inspiring others along the way. In April 2023, another vow-taking ceremony was held under the guidance of Har Hari Khalsa Ji; later that November, the Cuban Sikh community itself took vows during a Gurdwara ceremony celebrating the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Today, we sustain a community that grows through its actions. We gather at the Guru’s doorstep—sharing in Gurdwara Sahib and Guru-ka-Langar—once a month at two centers in Havana: “Guru RamDass,” guided by Kirti Nam Kaur, and “Centro Árbol,” sustained by Dass Mani Kaur, Guru Deep Singh, and Indra Kirti Kaur. Some members of Sikh Dharma Cuba no longer reside in the country due to life’s transitions; however, they continue to serve our Sangat daily by sharing the Guru’s message—conveyed from the Golden Temple—and participating in our events online.
We currently hold Gurdwara Sahib services, Guru-ka-Langar, Kirtan, and other community outreach activities at both “Centro Árbol” and “Guru RamDass,” carrying out initiatives and services that benefit the surrounding communities.
We keep the Guru’s space open so that anyone may visit whenever they feel called to do so and receive the message.
We actively link our service to festivals held in Havana:
– The “Faro de Luz” (Beacon of Light) International Festival, organized annually by the Cuban Alliance of Kundalini Yoga Instructors.
– The “Wahe Guru” Festival held twice a year (in May and November) at Centro Árbol.
Here, we share some images and testimonials regarding our journey.
We recently received a proposal from Guru Fatha Singh Khalsa Ji to conduct a teaching tour across our country—an uplifting opportunity that will inspire us to dedicate ourselves fully to service. This November, by the Guru’s Grace, we will carry out a diverse and extensive program to be shared across various sectors of our society.
