Khalsa Woman Leader: Guru Simran Kaur Khalsa

Guru Simran Kaur (Holland, USA) is the Custodian of the Siri Singh Sahib’s Ranch in Espanola, a position she has held for several decades.  She provides tours of the property and teaches local student visitors about Sikh Dharma. *

She has been an active board member for the local Adult Literacy Program and taught an adult woman to improve her reading skills.

In 2009 Guru Simran Kaur founded Food 4 Kids NM, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide supplemental food to local schools so that underserved children do not go hungry. Each child receives a food bag to take home over the weekend.  Read more about the Food4Kids program.

She has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross since 2009 and in 2020, she received the Clara Barton Award from the American Red Cross for her volunteer work during natural disasters and times of crisis.  The award, named after the Red Cross founder, is the highest honor that the organization bestows on volunteers.  Read more here.

Guru Simran Kaur is currently working on setting up the first 3HO/Sikh Dharma library in the US.
