Salok Mahalla 9

Guru Teg Bahadur Salok Mahalla 9

Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, was known for his deeply meditative nature and shone as a light of truth, compassion and sacrifice during an age of oppression.

Salok Mahalla 9 comprises 57 stanzas and appears in the concluding portion of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the living Guru of the Sikhs (Ang 1426-1429). Guru Teg Bahadur composed Salok Mahalla 9 near the end of his life, and this distilled wisdom was one of his final teachings.

It is our prayer that meditating on Guru Teg Bahadur’s poetic Saloks may bring peace to you in your life. May they remind us of the impermanence of this world, fortify us with courage, and allow us to experience Divine remembrance with every breath.
