For over 40 years, my journey as a Sikh, a yoga student and member of the 3HO community has brought me to many powerful spaces of transformation. Yet, year after year, the European Yoga Festival (EYF) stands out as one of the most profound experiences—one that deeply connects me not only to my yogic practice but also to the Sikh way of life.

If you are part of the Sikh community, or if you are simply curious about the depth and beauty of Sikhi, attending EYF is a must. Here’s why:

A Unique Space to Live the Sikh Spirit

EYF fosters an atmosphere where the Sikh spirit flourishes. It is a rare and beautiful opportunity to fully immerse in the teachings, practices, and daily rhythms of a Sikh lifestyle while being surrounded by a like-minded global community.  Whether you are a practicing Sikh, a Kundalini Yoga student drawn to the teachings of Sikh Dharma, or someone seeking a deeper connection to your spiritual path, EYF provides a space to live, learn, and grow in the sangat.

A Living Gurdwara & the Power of Sangat

One of the most powerful aspects of EYF is the presence of a full Gurdwara, where daily practice includes Gurbani Kirtan, Seva, and the recitations of Banis. Being able to gather with a true Sadh Sangat—a community devoted to spiritual practice—is an unparalleled experience, especially for those who live in areas where access to a Gurdwara is limited.  Here, you can immerse yourself in the sacred sound current of Gurbani, listen to world-renowned kirtanis, and develop a deeper understanding of Sikh practices.

Experience Sikh Ceremonies & Traditions

Beyond the daily rhythm of the Gurdwara, EYF also offers the chance to witness and participate in Sikh ceremonies, such as the vows of Sikh Ministers.  These sacred moments are inspiring, as they reaffirm the dedication to a life of service, grace, and spiritual discipline. You also have the opportunity to learn more about the Guru’s protocols, deepening your connection to Sikh Dharma in a way that is experiential rather than just intellectual.

A Journey Through Sikh Scriptures

EYF provides the space to engage with the Guru’s teachings on a profound level. Whether it is through Akhand Path (continuous recitation of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib), Sahej Path (slower, personal recitation), or understanding the deeper meanings of the Shabad Guru, this festival offers a direct experience of how Gurbani transforms the soul.

The Gift of Community

For many of us who live in small or isolated Sikh communities, the chance to be surrounded by a thriving Sangat is priceless. There is a unique joy in practicing Sikhi alongside fellow seekers—sharing in langar, singing in the mornings, and living the values of Bana, Bani, Seva, and Simran in an environment that supports personal and collective elevation.

Don’t Miss This Experience!

If you have ever longed to deepen your Sikh practice, to connect with a vibrant Sangat, and to experience the Sikh way of life in its fullness, the European Yoga Festival is a must. It is more than just a yoga festival—itis a sacred gathering, a spiritual immersion, and an opportunity to embody the teachings of Guru Nanak, Guru Gobind Singh, and the entire lineage of Sikh Gurus.

Join us at the European Yoga Festival this upcoming August 2nd through 10th in Domainede Chales, Nouan-le-Fuzelier, France and step into an experience that will uplift your soul and bring you closer to your path.  Don’t miss it—it truly is a wonderful experience.
