SS Sham Kaur (Bolivia) is a climate change specialist with over 25 years of experience across public and private sectors. She specializes in forest conservation, carbon mitigation strategies, and sustainable development, with particular expertise in the REDD+ framework.
As director of environmental consulting firm Servicios Ambientales S.A., Sham Kaur has developed strategic vision in forest protection and climate resilience at national and subnational levels throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Her experience includes serving as Bolivia’s lead REDD+ negotiator under the UNFCCC framework and consulting for the United Nations and World Bank across Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Surinam, Panama, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay and Brazil.
Professionally, she holds an Industrial Engineering degree, an MBA from Gabriela Mistral University in Chile, and a certificate in Sustainable Development and Global Environment from Brown University.
Sham Kaur uniquely integrates her environmental expertise with her role as an ordained Minister of Sikh Dharma. She serves as Co-President of the Board of Directors for the Siri Singh Sahib Corporation (SSSC), has been a member of the Global Teachers Council, and represents the Sikh Dharma community in Bolivia’s Interreligious Dialogue. She is also a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor.
