Facing Cancer with the Help of Kundalini Yoga

Since her cancer diagnosis, Guru Jai created the project “Facing Cancer with the Help of Kundalini Yoga” to support people living with cancer.

This program started with my own experience of living with cancer. It makes me happy to be able to help people with a cancer diagnosis by utilizing breathing, meditations, Shabad guru and kriya techniques of Kundalini Yoga.

In the last few years, I observed how my body responded to different physical exercises (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama), which ones could be practiced, and which ones should not be recommended. After discussing this topic with some doctors, I summarized a series of Kundalini Yoga practices, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, that could support cancer patients.

During my own illness and direct experience in hospitals, I have understood that each person needs a completely personalized yogic therapeutic plan. This is how my project began, wanting to teach and help individuals who face a very delicate moment in their lives, from a medical, physical, emotional and mental point of view.

Living in the present moment, flowing into the experience that life calls us to live, taking ownership of one’s destiny with respect and love is a way of approaching everyday life in which the protagonist is not the disease but the person. This project includes both group and individual lessons also directly at home and online lessons are also provided, where she also utilizes sound therapies like the gong. The aim of the course is to support ongoing therapies while relieving stress and improving mental health.
