Ajooni Singh from Spain shares his experience of the 50th Anniversary of Sikh Dharma in Germany:
The festival was held at a specialized events center dedicated to spiritual events and retreats. It was surrounded by a lake and beautiful lotus ponds — everything in a state of great beauty and peace.
The services offered to us were of very high quality. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with excellent cleanliness throughout the entire venue. The food served was of great quality, abundant, and featured excellent menus. Everyone seemed very pleased.
We celebrated the 50th anniversary of 3HO and Sikh Dharma in Germany — a community that, in its time, was the largest and most active in Europe. The event was organized and led by one of its main founders, MSS Sat Hari Singh, together with Guru Dev Kaur.
A wide variety of workshops were offered, including Conscious Communication, healing, Sat Nam Rasayan, Kundalini massages, singing, Bhangra dance, the Mayan Tradition of the calendar and altars, and many more classes. These were taught by teachers from Germany and other European countries.
One of the most emotional moments was the event led by Taran Taran Singh, also a pioneer of Sikh Dharma and 3HO in Germany. He shared stories and photographs from the early days, and several people from that first generation who have already passed away were remembered.
Everything went beautifully. Each day began with sadhana, the recitation of JapJi Sahib, yoga, and the morning mantras. At the end, we celebrated Gurdwara Sahib, while the continuous reading of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib (a Sahej Path) was also taking place.
The closing of the event was a powerful Japa meditation of the mantra Chatara Charata Varti, which lasted throughout the morning and part of the afternoon. All the musicians sang and played together while the participants sat in a large circle with an altar in the center.
We all sang and repeated the mantra for several hours. You could truly feel the joy and devotion of everyone present. We knew we were creating something very special — an experience we carry in our hearts, one that will remain as inspiration and sustenance for a long time, until we meet again.
