The Art of Life: A Poem by Joti Tara Kaur

I started to be an artist of my own life when I met you.
I started to refine the impureness, to design new lines,
I learnt that from your feet, the perspective of life is bigger, cleaner.

A lifetime is not enough to finish a piece of art,
but even the man lying in his deathbed would be thankful
to know your teachings before the next journey starts.

Sometimes, I see me in all, I feel me in all, my heart is open to You.
Sometimes, You remember me, You are there in a hard way.
Therefore, I think to myself “why…”
Then, I remember, You know why and one day I will know it too.

I close my eyes and I see you and I trust you and I come back to your feet,
and I see again the bigger perspective.
