14th Pauree
When you cannot find your path in life, when you cannot see the direction to your destiny,
when you cannot achieve fulfillment, the Fourteenth Pauree will show you the way.
Excerpted from the book Guru Nanak’s Call of the Soul: Japji Sahib:
In the 14th pauree, Guru Nanak tells us of the greatness and blessings that come to a person who lives in the Will of the True One and upon whom spiritual awakening dawns. For that person, the way is cleared of all obstructions and detours and the devotee remains focused on the path. Those who do this become so great and widely recognized that they leave behind legacies of fame and honor that are remembered through the ages. So great is the status and devotion of those who have shed their ego that they cannot be misled spiritually or deluded by empty religious rituals because they are inseparably bound to the path of Dharma (…) The thing to remember is that humans are not mechanical mechanisms. We possess mind, intellect, and a soul capable of awakening to Divine Love. Guru Nanak tells us that only the one who has experienced this Love for themselves, in the manner of the devotee, knows the state of the devotee. No amount of description as to how a fruit tastes will ever equal the delight that the fruit actually brings.
(…) Such is the wonder of the Naam Niranjan, the Pure Name, which is beyond the illusion of maya and the pull of the earth. The one who surrenders to the Naam with heart and soul, will alone know such a spiritual state.

The path of the faithful shall never be blocked.
The faithful shall depart with honor and fame.
The faithful do not follow empty religious rituals.
The faithful are firmly bound to the Dharma.
Such is the Name of the Immaculate True One.
Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind.
