Gur poorai mayree raakh la-ee
Amrit naam riday meh deeno janam kee mail ga-ee
(Rahaa-o)
Nivaray doot dusht bairaa-ee gur pooray kaa japi-aa jaap
Kahaa karai ko-ee baychaaraa prabh mayray kaa bad partaap
Simar simar simar sukh paa-i-aa charan kamal rakh man maahee
Taa kee saran pari-o naanak daas jaa tay oopar ko naahee
Raag Bilaval, Fifth Mehl:
The Perfect Guru has preserved my honor.
He has enshrined the Ambrosial Naam within my heart;
The filth of so many lifetimes has been washed away.
Banished are the demons and wicked enemies,
Meditating upon the Perfect Guru.
What can any poor man do unto me?
Great is the Glory of my God.
Remembering, meditating in remembrance of Him, I obtain peace.
I enshrine the Lord’s Lotus Feet within my mind.
Servant Nanak has entered His Sanctuary.
There is none higher than the Lord.
