Guru Arjan Dev Ji – Raag Sorath – Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji – Panna 618

Sorat’h, Fifth Mehl:

Janam janam kay dookh nivaarai,

Sookaa man saadhaarai –

Darshan bhaytat hot nihaalaa –

Har kaa naam beechaarai.

Mayraa baid guroo govindaa,

Har har naam aukhadh mukh dayvai

Kaatai jam kee fandhaa

(Rahaa-o)

Samarath purakh pooran bidhaatay,

Aapay karanaihaaraa.

Apunaa daas har aap ubaari-aa –

Naanak naam adhaaraa.

Be rid of the pain of many births,

With support for your dried up mind –

To behold Lord’s Vision is to dwell in bliss –

Reflect on the Name of God.

Oh Guru You are my physician –

Lord God’s Name has put the remedy into my mouth,

And the noose of death has been cut –

(Pause)

Meditate on the perfect Being – the Creator –

Who is Himself the Cause of All actions.

The Lord Himself has liberated His slaves –

Nanak seeks the shelter of the Name.
