Posture: Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, and a light Neck Lock.

Mudra: Raise the arms up 60 degrees from horizontal, elbows and wrists straight. Stretch the body forward slightly from the plane of the body. The angle of the palms follows the angle of the arms. The fingers are straight and together, thumbs relaxed.

Visualization: Imagine a flame at the Heart Center. Do not move.

Breath: Breathe consciously, long and deep.

Time: 3 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply with a prayer for the loftiness of the Creator Mother Earth and peace. Hold for 15 seconds. Exhale. Inhale deeply. Feel in your heart the blessing of the Divine Mother. Hold for 15 seconds. Exhale. Inhale deep. Feel the taste of the sweetness of life. Hold for 15 seconds. Exhale.

Comments about this meditation from the Siri Singh Sahib, Yogi Bhajan:

Whenever you try to judge or control anybody; whenever you are insecure and doubt anybody, you curse yourself. I learned the hard way. I want you to learn gracefully. It’s not good. Never try to judge, control, nothing. People need help and they will need a lot of help.

Age of Aquarius is coming in and it’s going to blow up everybody mentally, so fast you can’t believe it. Insecurity will be all around us. Duality will be our best friend. There is no need. Just trust your soul.  It will save you. Learn this as an art.  Dive deep to your soul.  That’s all you have . . .

Now I am teaching you the old gypsy way of calling on the spirit.

Within the range of the chest, your muscle will come to balance, your hands will come like this straight as you feel good, you will close your eyes.

Feel the candle in your heart, the candle of freedom, the spirit at your heart center. Between the cross line of the nipples and the line drawn from the nose down to the navel, where that meets, light the candle of your freedom.

Just three minutes; not a minute more.

Remember the soul travels from the mother’s heart with the pranic beat. And at hundred twenty days, enters the child. The house is set and the guests move in. And the protective shield of the mother becomes totally divine and she enriches the soul. Her joy to produce another life, to enjoy the life in the world, is her pure aim though the time and space and circumstances.

The environments bring her a lot of pain and shadows and clouds and duality, but her purity is always purity. Her heart is always pure. Her spirit is always gracious. Mother gave birth to the Infinity of creativity and she is a source of every reality . . .

Feel in your heart the blessings of the Divine Mother nurturing you, feeling you, loving you, protecting you, counseling you, consoling you.

I Am a Woman: Essential Kriyas for Women in the Aquarian Age

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Bhajan always said that the Women’s Teachings were the key to the Aquarian Age . . . here is your resource to open that door!

This yoga manual, that accompanies the “I am Woman” reader, has been organized by topic so that you can focus on a particular discipline within your own practice, generate weekend workshops for your students, or create an entire curriculum for an in-depth experience of the women’s teachings over time. Each chapter includes a vigorous kriya or two, several meditations and a mantra/sound-current practice to connect to you to the Shabad Guru and the divine within.

‘I Am a Woman’ is available to purchase through the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI)

  2. Sat Nam! I am so happy you have created this forum and sadhana. I am a KRI teacher and my day job entails working on endangered species recovery. I created a organization, “Yogis for Mother Earth,” dedicated to uniting yogis in environmental service projects, seva for Mother Earth. We conduct wildlife surveys, assist with water saver projects, public lands clean up, climate change advocacy. I just wanted to let you know about yogis in the Rockies coming together for the cause. Thanks again for this important and timely forum!
