Into the dead body, He infuses the breath of life,

And the separated ones, He unites.

Even beasts, goblins and fools become attentive listeners,

When He sings the Name of the Lord.

Behold the Glorious Greatness of the Perfect Guru.

His Worth cannot be described.

He demolishes the abode of sorrow and distress.

Bliss, beatitude and lasting peace have now come.

The fruits of one’s heart’s desires are obtained, effortlessly,

And one’s works are brought to fulfillment.

One obtains peace in this world,

And in the next, one’s face shines radiantly;

One’s comings and goings are ended.

One becomes fearless, and the Naam abides in the heart,

Of the one who is pleasing to the Mind of the True Guru.

Standing up and sitting down,

Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord,

Grief, distress and doubt are dispelled.

Says Nanak: One’s karmas are finished,

As one’s mind is fixed on the Lotus Feet of the Guru.
