During the Siri Singh Sahib Ji’s life, traveling to India and doing Kirtan programs throughout the Punjab was something he did every year. This was his seva – to share the love of Guru Ram Das with the sangat and sing God’s Name together. This fall we will once again do this seva in the Punjab for Guru Ram Das’ birthday and we invite you to join us.
Chetna is a beautiful word that means “awaken.” This yatra will be a trip of seva and devotion to awaken the love of Guru Ram Das in the sangat and in ourselves. With Amritsar as our base, we will travel by bus to Kirtan programs in the area. Locations are being set now, but include Amritsar, Sur Singh, Goindwal, Ludhiana, and more. If you want to play Kirtan at the programs, please contact us for more information. We will be returning each night to Amritsar and most mornings will be at your leisure for darshan at Sri Harmandir Sahib and enjoying Amritsar.
We will celebrate Guru Ram Das’ birthday at Sri Harmandir Sahib with all the sangat. This will be a time of seva, love of the sangat and immense inspiration.
This is a very basic yatra that covers hotels and transportation to Kirtan seva programs that we will host around Amritsar. For those of you who are fluent travelers in India and wish to stay in less expensive accommodations in Amritsar, you are welcome to make your own arrangements and join the Yatra for the seva programs. Hotel rooms are limited because of Guru Ram Das’ birthday, so we are requesting you to register before September 1st so that we can reserve hotel and buses.
“Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur, Jin Siria Tinai Savaria”
